Almost ¾ (72%) of businesses are not prepared to deal with a crisis. This can appear at any time and having a business continuity plan can make the difference between recovering and failing.

There are few steps to follow for your plan:

1- Understand what your business should do in order to operate efficiently

2- Create an incident response plan to cope after the crisis occurs; and a plan to get your business to its minimum service level as quickly as possible.

3- Carry out an assessment of the key threats to the business (ie: data loss, fire, theft, loss of main supplier etc…)

4- Share your plan with important members of staff. Give everyone a role in order for them to be prepared.

5- Plan your recovery. Look at, for example, move to a temporary location, and sub-contracting service levels.

This all sounds common sense, but is actually vital. Accidents or theft happen on a daily basis. This is why, by making sure you have a Disaster Recovery system, you will be more likely to recover quickly.

The two usual methods for Pronet to create a system are:

-Full standby server replacement using “bare metal restore” process and

-A file replicating server located at your site however not in the same location as your existing server.

What is a “Bare Metal Restore Method”?

It uses specialist computer equipment to make incremental snap shots of your servers during day and night. It will require computer hardware and additionally spare computer equipment for the process to function correctly.

What is a “File Replication Method”?

Simpler and cheaper, it uses a second data server that is deployed in another building. It is compatible with existing servers.

What are you waiting for? Dial now before it is too late.
